This 1974 Gibson Ripper Bass with OHSC is in excellent condition!

The only thing to note is the strap button on the upper horn was relocated
to the lower horn (see pic), for a lefty player, early in its life. This does not effect it's playability and / or mojo for a 50 year old bass!

These fit the later Gibson bass tuners with the Gibson logo. Will not fit earlier ones
This is an original set of 4 Gibson nickel plated Bass tuner bushings. These were found on many (but not all) Gibson basses from the mid to late 70's to the early 80's. These have holes to fit 1 / 2-inch tuner shafts and are press-in, not threaded   Please do your own research since Gretsch used other types of tuner bushings as well

This one shows wear, but it's in good vintage shape. These tuners were used on some, but not all Gibson Basses in the early 70's. The shafts are a bit wider than the later 70's tuners with the Gibson Logo.

1974 / 75 Gibson Ripper body for restoration. Very light early Ripper that has seen better days. Truss rod turns in both directions. Frets are very low (true to Gibson spec) and have significant wear from 3rd to ninth area. Fingerboard is in good condition for age. There is a very amateur repair at the right side of the bridge and bottom of the body that could be fixed by a decent luthier. Finish has turned an amber color and has extensive checking. Incredible bass, almost like a time capsule this one is. Plays like butter, with all original parts. minimal play wear;
The frets are in great shape as well. Only defect I see is a chip at the pickguard typical of these basses, as well as a little wear / shapedness on the tuners from use.

This is a vintage Gibson Ripper Bass pickguard. Please see photos to confirm that this is the correct pickguard for your vintage bass. There is a crack that can be easily repaired. Also, two chips near screw holes. Overall, it is in good condition. I will pack it carefully before shipping.... more

Very nice 1974 Gibson Ripper, recently serviced by the Bass Gallery in Camden.

Some body wear as you'd expect from a 51 year old bass, but overall in great shape, and the neck is especially clean.

Plays really well, with a straight neck low action and good truss rod. Electronics and pickup selector all in good working order.

Frets are in excellent shape, and I believe it has had a refret at some point in its life.
