For sale is a used 1973 Gibson Les Paul recording. The body / neck is all original and has not been modified. I bought the husk from gibsondependable here on eBay with intentions to restore it. The only "modification" to the body is an additional strap button hole that had been drilled at some point by the neck joint, which was on the guitar when I got it. I also believe there may have been one or two extra screw holes that were drilled under the control cavity plate that are covered

There are tons of pages about this very rare and unique guitar designed by Les Paul and the engineers at Gibson. To start off there were only aprx 133 units in the course of three years in production (Personal units made before they changed over to the Professional and then the Recording models of the 1970??s), so rare is an understatement. Hard to find 1970's Kay, Les Paul recording copy. The Guitar shows general signs of use, with some nicks and dings here and there, mainly to the top of the headstock and a couple on the neck. This is to be expected of a 50 year old guitar and does not affect the playability of the instrument. The walnut finish on the body has faded a lovely green with the only major defect being a small blemish near the neck pickup, about the size of a 5p coin. She really is something special. But she's not perfect. Includes the cable and adapter that came with it. Case is original, as pictured. A wonderful landmark guitar
Player's grade, but probably on the high side of that. I would play this on stage no hesitation. Very few significant visible dings.
Head stock repair - yes, but an amazing job. I don' t know who did it, but they are gifted. And yes, I know the difference.
