I have owned this guitar since 1970. All parts are original except the bridge (I assume) since it is plastic and non-adjustable. I purchased the guitar at a small rural music store and the owner had fitted the guitar with a trapeze metal bridge (I am not sure why). About twenty years ago I had some maintenance done at a different music store and they recommended removing the trapeze and they may have installed the plastic bridge then. Fabulous guitar, freshly fitted with Gibson light gauge 80 / 20 Bronze wrapped strings
It took a bit of digging to find the serial numbered date (a complicated system of numbering evolution), the result is "made in Kalamazoo in 1950"
The action is really good, the manufacture is amazing for a 75 year old and after several hours of cleaning it is coming up with nice patinated glossy finish

This is a 1960??s Gibson Blue Ridge 12 String Jumbo. For its age it??s in surprisingly good condition. It??s tuned to dropped D and played with a capo on second fret to give E tuning. This is a sensible tuning choice for Gibson guitars of this age, particularly 12 strings as the pressure of full E tuning can cause bridge lift and high action. Seriously great sounding 1966 Gibson J-50 in its original Natural finish. This example has clearly been well loved over its 52 year life. Neck angle is great with tons of life in the frets. Huge and open sounding and has a nice active pickup system installed. Overall in good condition with lots of play wear, finish checking, dings, dents and a few large top cracks that have been repaired.
