The screw holes show lines in the back which make me believe that these were cracked at some point but then glued back together which appear to be solid now. These are the Schaller made Gibson logo tuners that were used on many Gibson guitar models during the 1970's and into the early 80's. They're chrome plated. These have minor wear and a little bit of pitting but they're cleaner than most I've seen. Original screws, washers and bushings included.

This is an early 1970's Gibson L6S in the rare tobacco sunburstwith rosewood fretboard in outstanding condition. The serial number is imprinted927312 and has the Made in USA imprint as well. I don??t know the exact yearbecause it appears to be 1972 from what I can gather, but I don??t believe thesewere released until 1973. This bass guitar is the prototype for the L6-S bass, a model that was never manufactured by Gibson. Although it is the prototype for an instrument that was not produced, it also seems to be a prototype of the Ripper and Grabber models introduced later that are constructed with the same materials (maple neck and body) and similar dimensions.
