1974 Gibson L6. This guitar was my #1 in my first post Ramones project, LOS GUSANOS. I toured the world with it. It has a Steve Morse DiMarzio neck pick up, and a Tone Zone DiMarzio bridge pick up. Changed out the bridge and tuners sometime in the late 90s and the pickguard was replaced a few years back (corner broke off see pictures) The neck was also refretted about that time. Up for sale is a 1976 Gibson USA L6S empty husk. The headstock was cracked and repaired. Has a bizarre hoe drilled through the body. It??s a good solid repair but cosmetically obvious. The crack line has not been touched up. It??s been strung up and played without issues. The frets are average with some wear. The truss rod works great. Neck is straight. Although it is the prototype for an instrument that was not produced, it also seems to be a prototype of the Ripper and Grabber models introduced later that are constructed with the same materials (maple neck and body) and similar dimensions. The screw holes show lines in the back which make me believe that these were cracked at some point but then glued back together which appear to be solid now. This is an early 1970's Gibson L6S in the rare tobacco sunburstwith rosewood fretboard in outstanding condition. The serial number is imprinted927312 and has the Made in USA imprint as well. I don??t know the exact yearbecause it appears to be 1972 from what I can gather, but I don??t believe thesewere released until 1973.
