Here is a really nice '76 Fender Precision Bass in Black. Fretless maple neck. Interestingly the neck has a "76" serial number but the neck plate also has a late 75 or '76 number. This is a clean and very solid thumbrest from a 1971 Fender Precision Bass. It's not dented or warped like a lot of them are and includes (2) original mounting screws. These are very hard to find because the deep maroon ones were only made for a few years. Fender discontinued them because they actually stained the pickguards, especially white ones. A rare gem this one is. This reissue is, in my opinion, the closest you??ll get to an original ?62 without spending a fortune. It??s set up with La Bella Flatwounds and sounds like a Motown record. Perfect for the James Jamerson sound.
It plays smooth as butter. The stamp indicates the date of manufacture to be February 14, 1997.

The chrome is in beautiful condition with no hint of rust or oxidation & no scratches.
