Nice piece of fairly lightweight three-piece Ash body. Serial number is 634290
There are plenty of small dings and light wear around the edges. Some of the finish has worn off where the arm rests. There is a nice gouge a bit over one inch long on the upper bout on the top
The neck is very clean with no dings or signs of wear. The fingerboard is clean and smooth with very little playing wear. It is currently strung with flatwounds. All parts are original except the bridge cover and ... more

I have owned this bass since 1986. I bought it at a pawn shop in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Since then it has gigged once. In 2013. Otherwise it has been in my home studio getting played very occasionally. It's in really excellent condition especially for an instrument this old. Any dings on the body I've taken close up photos of. I would love it if whomever buys it could pick it up but if I have to ship it I will pack it really well so it arrives in the same condition.

This is a very nice 1979 fender Precision bass In Antigua. The serial number and pots date to 1979, but pickups are 1980 so technically a 1980 with the S9 serial number which is common. The bass is in excellent condition with one unfortunate ding on the lower edge between the strap pin and the input jack. Some of the paint has chipped off there, but there is no other damage or dings or dents anywhere else on the guitar and the top is very clean

Lovely vintage 1978 made in USA Fender Musicmaster short scale bass guitar. As you can see from the photos it is well loved but plays and sounds beautiful. Currently string with Labella flats and has an aftermarket 4 pole pickup that sounds very full and more P like than the weaker guitar pickup these would have came with.

Der Bass wurde viel gespielt (siehe Bild von der linken Halsseite!) und funktioniert auch heute noch wunderbar, die Bünde sind noch lange nicht abgespielt. Fender Precision bass guitar that belonged to Duncan ??Sandy?? Sanderson of the Deviants and the Pink Fairies. It appears that the guitars original finish has been stripped back to the wood. The serial number indicates that it was made in 1978, some years after his Deviants period. The letter S is the code for the decade of the 70's, and the way that Fender numbered their guitars meant that the first digit of the serial number equates to the last digit of that year, hence 1978. This is such a cool 70s bass with masses of mojo. It plays and sounds great. Plenty of knocks and dings in its almost 50 years, serial dates it to 1978.
The guitar for many years had gaffer tape holding the strap in place. This has been removed and due to the length of time it was in place it has taken off the lacquer as you can see in the photos. This creamy character has seen a few things over the decades, but it's aged pretty gracefully overall.
