This is a 1977 Fender Mustang Bass with a natural finish. This is a cool one. It's pickguard and pickup cavity were long ago enlarged to fit a set of DiMarzio Precision pickups. This is a rare Made in Japan Squier by Fender Jazz Bass. The serial number indicates that it was made between 1984 and 1987. It is finished in black paint, presumably with a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard (although I can't verify the wood species myself)

I am the second owner of this bass and have had it for 25 years. This bass is all original other than the bridge pick-up which was rewound to spec by Lindy Fralin in 1999. The finish is worn from the original case. Other than that, the finish has some light checking, which is normal for a 50 year old bass. Fret wear is light, and plays like a dream. For sale is a reasonably rare 1984 Fender USA Elite Precision bass, made at the end of the CBS era, just prior to selling Fender. They were only made for two years in a limited run. It was Fender??s second attempt at an active guitar, including an onboard preamp controlled via the tone knob. Considering its age, this 1975 American Fender Jazz Bass is in pretty amazing condition.
It isn't perfect as it has some slight damage to the finish on the right side of its body which is shown in the pictures but asides from that and some light scratches, the finish is almost perfect.
It also has some slight wear to the frets, mainly on the D string but nothing that compromises its playability or sound
