What we have here is an extremely rare example of an orginal Matsumoko built Epiphone Crestwood Wilshire ET-290N. Note that If the Epiphonewiki website info is correct, these models are Wilshires, built between 1975 and 1979.
The bad:
These are five piece bodies. As you can see in the photos, one of the wings is separating from the body. This is a fairly easy repair for a skilled luthier, but not so much for those who are unskilled It has a 3-way pickup selector switch that functions in ... more

Vintage 1964 Epiphone Wilshire in stunning original Cherry finish!
The Wilshire packs some incredible tone and punch into a light and resonant slab-body. The concept of this guitar is so cool as it's related more SG Standard than Special - but has the distinct advantage of being factory drilled for a stop-tail like a 50's Standard or ES-335. Hi Yes Winter is here ,and I'm back with still more stuff from a long closed (17 years ) New England Luthier / vintage guitar shop.
Today I have a pair of tailpiece studs and bushings. The bag this was found in read Epiphone Wilshire thin solid body electric 1965, but I have no way of verifying this. What I can say is the bushings are short, there is hardly any plating left on the tops. , I think the Epiphone guitars were only 1 1 / 2" thick. Thinner than Gibson solid bodies.... more
