This Epiphone FT-145 Texan sounds as wonderful as it looks. It has a few dings, but is in excellent condition for its age. Made by the legendary Matsumoku factory in Japan, it was built in 1973.
This is an extremely well-made guitar. It has a natural spruce top, mahogany rims and back, rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, an adjustable bridge, and chrome-plated hardware
Of special note: It has a heel-less bolt-on neck, so if it ever needs a neck reset, you can do it yourself!

Based on my research these guitars were made from 72 through the late 70's. The Japanese Serial numbers either have no real meaning or none that I can find. The versions with the blue labels on the inside appear to be eariler models the later ones switched to a white label. This is a vintage (mid-late 60's) Epiphone Hardshell guitar case that came to me along with a 1967 Epi Texan round shoulder acoustic guitar. It will also fit the Gibson Round Shoulder acoustics of that era such as J-45, J-50 and J-160E. The last picture shows my J-160E, just so you can see how it fits in the case. go back two owners, this guy wanted to play fretless, so he removed the frets, you may be aware though that frets actually play a part in keeping the neck straight, the tang of the fret that goes into the fretboard helps push the fingerboard outward which counters the pressure to bow the neck, take the frets away, the fretboard goes all over the place

Vintage guitar, This guitar has been left to me, I'm not a guitarist, so of no use to me
Its in completely as found / given to me condition,
Needs a little restoration with defects as shown in the pics .
I have had someone with a bit of knowledge look at it who estimated its current value for condition to be £200, so have it advertised locally for that , however if bought through here its £250

On offer is a vintage early 1970's Japan-import Epiphone Dreadnaught Acoustic FT-145 Texan guitar project. The Serial # is a six digit sequence and is '440586'. The exact dating of Japanese Epiphones is somewhat uncertain but this guitar has the early Blue label inside the soundhole as described in the following extract, with 'Made in Japan' printed on the label, indicating the guitar was made between 1972 and 1975
