These Gibson / Epiphone mutes came factory built on the two point bridges of the 60??s Thunderbirds and the Epiphone Embassy. These are extremely hard to find and will complete your Thunderbird restoration. This particular one came off a 1967 Embassy made in the Kalamazoo factory (using all Gibson parts). The mute shows typical wear and patina for an item from this era.

This Epiphone by Gibson Rock bass is the only one I've ever seen with "Epiphone by Gibson" actually inlaid on the headstock in this specific font. Most of them may be inlaid "Epiphone" but they are not inlaid "by Gibson" and if they are, they do not have this same style of font. Not sure what year it was made but it has to be in the 80s since all of the 90s models I've seen have the different headstock inlay.
