Up for auction is my long neglected Conrad Dan Armstrong copy. This is the Japanese model that was manufactured around the time Ampeg was unveiling the original Dan Armstrong. I purchased this back in 2000 and it's been a great player I plugged it in recently and the pickups are functional. The jack could use a little care, as there was some scratchiness in certain positions. This is a fairly heavy guitar. I have been parting out a 1960's Conrad / Teisco 1246 full scale bass guitar. Made in Japan. This listing is for the neck that is shown in the pictures. The body was also a black to red burst to match the headstock.
This neck is being sold as is, untested and with any and all flaws you might find, for a luthier repair project.
There are 4 holes that were crudely drilled on the back of the headstock so some kind of tuning key would fit properly. I never had those two tuning keys, so I ... more

So the big news on this one is there is a crack on the headstock. I had it strung up with some medium gauge acoustic strings and it never seemed to bother it at all but the crack flexes a little bit when torqued upon. I have not screwed it down or glued it which would likely help. The truss rod I imagine is holding it in tighter then it would be if there was not a truss rod and I assume there is a truss rod because there is a truss rod plastic cover although I have not removed it. For your kind consideration is this vintage Conrad Model 40226 acoustic guitar. This guitar was made in Japan in the 70s. It's in very good condition with moderate play wear and some surface imperfections as shown, most notably some dings on the back of the neck. It's plays great with a low, fast action and has all the warm, articulate tone that vintage Japanese made guitars like this are known for. It has a 1-5 / 8" nut width.
