The wood is solid, and I see no stress or damage to the body. It is missing 2 of those hold downs, as you can see in photos and 2 krys to turn the string. Sold as you see it needing some work   I see no makers marks and the only world's anywhere are on the back "PAT ". Not much I can tell you about this instrument. It??s quite rare but there a few about and they appear to have been made in the UK, probably London. This would explain the shape of it and also the quality. Here we have something very special, a second year Musicman Stringray bass. Suspected to be a refinish at some point but beautifully presented here in gloss black, maple fretboard and with all the mojo of a vintage guitar
This has been a well loved and well played instrument during it's life, the frets are low however playability is not hampered

Here??s my 1984 stingray - I??ve had since new. The paintwork started to peel off a while back. At the time, MM were experimenting with finishes; this one, unfortunately, didn??t bond well. (It was the only colour of this kind to be imported to the UK - I know because I worked for the importer!)
