I've owned this 1888 Luscomb 5-String Banjo since 1970. The 12" pot has two steel rims with a wood tone ring. It has all the original tension brackets. Neck looks like mahogany with ebony fingerboard. The heel has a slight crack but otherwise the banjo is in very, very good antique condition. Currently strung with plunky nylon strings (as was common in 1888), although most of its life it has steel strings, and you may want to revert back to steel for a more traditional banjo tone. This is a genuine Gibson early 70's creme switch tip. Correct foundry markings and geometry for late 60s to early + mid 70s. Really nice clean example with good threads. It is structurally solid and has an appealing relic vibe to it.
