Absolute case queen! I purchased this brand new in Albuquerque, and it has always been in Albuquerque. The finish is a 9 / 10. There are some light pick scratches and light scratches on the back that are very hard to notice and a very small nick on the top edge (see photo). There is no rash on the back or anything else visible cosmetically. Has recently undergone a fret leveling and polishing, along with a full setup to factory specs and new S I.T. strings

This was a rare find. It has an original case with original setup from 1979. The only flaws was a hairline crack on the tuning headstock which was professionally repaired by a music shop. The photo shows the music shop repair. One tone knob is missing and neck pickup cover is crack. Please review the before and after photos. The neck was adjusted & new strings. We know nothing about this sort of stuff, recent estate dispersal. Looking at the old tattered case I suspect thisinstrument is from the early 1900s. There is a rub mark on the wood, maybe from a beltbuckle or such. Nothing serious, just somefinish loss. No maker marks no nothing. Sounds like a real winner, Twanks loud. We will wrap it gently with lots and lots of bubble wrap.... more

I have been told this Kay model 72 was made between 1952-57. It is in great cosmetic and playable condition. No repairs done or needed. Action is great, neck set is solid, frets and fret board also great very few cosmetic issues. Some minor dents but nothing thru the finish. There is some finish wear from the first to third frets on the side if the neck. I??ve owned a dozen of these when I had a store but I??ve never personally seen one in this great condition. It is in decent condition, Has some wear from over the past 70 years. It still plays and sounds great. The neck does not look warped, does not seem to have cracks in the body at all.
