This prototype has been totally restored and refinished in a subtle 1960??s Rickenbacker fireglow finish by Kevin Smith of TONESMITH Custom Guitars. Tuners have also been replaced. There are two DeArmond single coil pickups but no active effects (like the fuzz that came later). Originally it showed signs of breakdown at neck joint (where wood sides met metal at neck pocket). I think I bought this guitar in 1973 or 1974. The tuner went bad on it and have been replaced with Schaller Machine Heads. I didn't drill for the Shallers so you can put the original Kluson gears on. The pickups have been upgraded to Seymour Duncan pickups. Seth Lever in the front JT in the back. A really fine sounding guitar.... more

Here is an all original 1950??s Kay Sizzler guitar. It??s in nice playing condition and the pickup sounds great. It comes with the original case also which is in good shape. Handle is broken on it. Guitar also comes with the original rope strap that would have come with the guitar back in the 1950??s. The original tuner buttons have crumbled but the original tuners still work well. Just need to get new buttons out on. Cool little guitar that is a lot of fun to play.... more

Cool guitar, plays nice and has a great tone. The pickup is loose and has a small piece of tape holding it in place. No case, just a cool vintage guitar!
