This is a George Bauer Mandolin measuring 24" long in its original case. It has serial #22548 and the Bauer sticker inside. It has some tiny cracks in the face along with a few hardly noticeable scratches and dings but otherwise is in very good condition

In the 1940's, Uncle Leslie emigrated from England and brought along his New Reliance Banjo. The New Reliance was manufactured in England by George Houghton & Sons, Reliance Works, Birmingham, England probably between 1920 and 1940, however, there is no documentation to prove it's exact manufacturing date

It is completely original as near as I can tell except for the tailpiece cover which was not included when I purchased it. Included is the original chip-board, alligator-style case with the plastic handle and latches intact. The hang tag is still in the case. Serial number is 20862. Often the first two numbers indicate year so that would put this as a 1920 but I cannot fully confirm that. Here is a beautiful inlaid bowl back mandolin by Graupner & Meyer of Philadelphia. Dates 1891-1906. It measures 24" long and 7 25" wide at body with a 6" deep bowl back. Some dirt and wear as shown, but overall excellent condition. Some minor old repairs / loss to inlaid lines on back

Univox A mandolin looks to be made by Kay. When this mandolin came in to us the seams were split everywhere and and it needed to be completely disasseblend and rebuilt and thats exactly what we did. All new glue joints and then it was on to setup and fret work. We used GHS LS250 silk and steel strings. We dressed all the frets and the mandolin is playing great with low action and no buzzing. This is a nice clean instrument which both looks good and plays well with a nice tone and lots of volume. The string action is low making for comfortable playing. It's made by the Chase company and their name and logo can be seen on the machine head. The name can again be seen on the paper label visible through the left hand f hole. This beautiful instrument was manufactured by the Migma Meister collective of Markneukirchen, instrument makers in Germany. Some research on the internet found a reference to Walter Wunderlich, however this instrument is signed by Hugo Wunderlich, a brother or son, perhaps. The headstock is marked "Foreign" thus dating this instrument as being made for export in the early post war period. Foreign being a mark often applied to goods from Germany in the period after both WW1 and WW2

Recently serviced and re stringed by local music shop who advised it was early 1900??s with cherrywood flat back and sides.

Nice set of a pair of enclosed machine head antique tuners for mandolin, 4 tuners to each side
This listing is for two enclosed machine head tuners with a combined total of 8 buttons, enough for one 8 string mandolin
The planks and gears are brass, the worm drives are steel
Size; 106 mm long
Weight is 102 grams the pair

Here we have the earliest commercial example of this Mando Guitar from 1966 with the metal wrap-around pick guard and tail-piece, these were only manufactured in the UK. Original and unrestored Neapolitan style bowl-back mandolin - curved strips of wood forming the bowl - old instrument with bone tuning pegs; tortoise-shell pick guard below the sound hole under the strings; selling for repair - paper label "John Werro Importer and Maker of musical Instruments 39A Essex Road Islington N " (dating the instrument between1890 to 1912). Lovely condition - dated 1897 inside
Body has no cracks or splits
Fret board is complete and original
Front decoration is complete and free of cracks - has a few small chips to the edges
One of the strings has snapped and one of the tuning knobs has a chip
