We have a Restored ( by myself) 1978 Gibson G-3 body. Body was refinished in Stew Mac Vintage nitro with 7 coats of clear and made to look Vintage not new. Body was originally black, then was stained a horrible brown. I stripped it down a gave her new life. I added blocks of you want to make it a grabber with sliding pickup. ( you will need to add a drop of wood glue on the bottom of them) I shielded cavity with shielding paint. It??s got some bruises but it??s a very nice body. Most of these ... more

GIBSON GRABBER ELECTRIC BASS 1979 --- This is Great Bass in good shape. Great sounding, electronics work modified with volume switch / boost. One sliding pick up to find the sweet spot. Neck has wear & tear but like a dream. Super light weight feels like a guitar. Bolt on Neck, After market paint Job, NO CASE. 1972 Gibson L6-S Bass Prototype (Ripper, Grabber) Singlecut Sunburst
 
This bass guitar is the prototype for the L6-S bass, a model that was never manufactured by Gibson. Although it is the prototype for an instrument that was not produced, it also seems to be a prototype of the Ripper and Grabber models introduced later that are constructed with the same materials (maple neck and body) and similar dimensions. The look of this one does foreshadow those later models

+ black tolex, has a lot of wear & rips
+ rips & material missing at the plastic surround
+ strap that holds case open has a rip
+ deep purple interior, has some wear
+ all latches work fine
+ handle is gone
+ top of case is at headstock front resting on the bottom part=NOT OVRRLAPPING AS USUAL
+ all feet on back are missing
