I received 3 mandolin's recently from a music collector friend, and amazingly 2 of them are almost in identical condition - this is the 2nd of 3 (I already sold another one). Like the first one I sold, It has a string that's missing on the neck. Also there are some condition issues with the body of the mandolin, some nicks, scuffing, and light chipping present. But no deep cracks or breaks - nothing like that.

Travel back in time with this old taterbug mandolin. I'm guessing it's from sometime between about 1890 and 1920. Mandolins were big in the 1910s, during the mandolin orchestra craze.
It has a cool brass headstock logo badge reading "Fischer Bros. / 1707 Vine Street / Cincinnati, Ohio / Music Dealers / Phonographs, Records and Supplies " I assume it was made in Italy and just branded for the music store

Interesting 4-course Vintage Mandolin. From our research, it looks like The Harmony Instrument company made these Mandolins and guitars under the Armstrong name during the 1930's and 40's So that would be my best estimate to how old this instrument is. Probably produced in Chicago, IL.

Here is a 1953 Rivoli mandolin (sn. 65982). Right now in Felix Wiedler's Unofficial New York Epiphone Registry database, there are only 27 Rivoli listed. Univox A mandolin looks to be made by Kay. When this mandolin came in to us the seams were split everywhere and and it needed to be completely disasseblend and rebuilt and thats exactly what we did. All new glue joints and then it was on to setup and fret work. We used GHS LS250 silk and steel strings. We dressed all the frets and the mandolin is playing great with low action and no buzzing. Here is a 1940 Adelphi mandolin (sn. 16128). There are currently only 46 known surviving Adelphi mandolins in Felix Wiedler's Unofficial New York Epiphone Registry database. In need of much repair and cleaning. Strings seem to work okay and it appears that none or missing. The inside label is disintegrating and hard to read but you can make out Chicago, Illinois as the place it was made so I believe the maker was either Felix Schmidt or Oscar Schmidt. There is a paper tag inside that tells you the manufacturer and in the lower right hand corner of the tag it says 2A so that's what I put down as a model. I wish I could get a picture of the interior but my camera will not allow me to do so. It also says it was made in Napoli, which is in Italy. The paper tag is also signed by a couple people but different names. Giuseppe Cassini is one of them. I was never able to find out about the maker on this one! Great big body martin style mandolin dated feb 1901 newcastle, interesting fluted back, I have never seen another like it! Overall its a good condition. All the strings are accounted for but some of the metal threats are slightly bent. Some age related wear throughout in the form of scuffs and marks. Antique banjo- mandolin with resonator. Headstock is marked by a Gus Butcher of Croydon. I haven't had any luck in researching this name. Date the instrument to 1930s.
It does have some condition issues mainly a split around the edge of the skin of the resonator
Other than that there are a few cosmetic marks small dings as to be expected from an old instrument

Bought from hobgoblin music some years ago.

Recently serviced and re stringed by local music shop who advised it was early 1900??s with cherrywood flat back and sides.

Looks like there was a repair to the edge at some point, has some marks on the back consistent with and instrument of its ages

Antique Vintage Italian Mandolin - Giovanni de Meglio - Napoli - Date 1897.

Lovely condition - dated 1897 inside
Body has no cracks or splits
Fret board is complete and original
Front decoration is complete and free of cracks - has a few small chips to the edges
One of the strings has snapped and one of the tuning knobs has a chip
Original case that is complete but has storage wear.

The original Catania made Mandolin is of the Bowl design and has a great tone
