This is a late Sixties Japanese made Rosewood Lyle with X-bracing. The guitar has been set-up, and is ready to play. I am selling a 1970's(?) full size acoustic guitar (with black chipboard case) for a luthier project. Made in Japan. I am not sure which factory this was made in. String action is appr. 3 / 16" at the 12th fret (look at last two photos for this). The neck is a very skinny width but with a greater depth (U shape). Reminds me of 1960's Kay acoustics I have had in the past with a baseball bat type neck. Selling "as is " . No returns.... more

Mid-60s Lyle three-pup Strat-ish model in superb clean condition throughout. This is the three pickup version of the two-pup Epiphone model with the Kurt Cobain cachet. Actually, a cooler guitar. A very interesting and effective take on the Strat. These pups are crisp, open, and responsive. Actually, IMO, a little more responsive than Strat pups, but not quite as tight and focused when you really lay into them. Mustang-style tremolo works great. Interesting circuitry. So this old girl has had a life. The binding was starting to rot but it has been sealed in lacquer and should be good for several years. The old dove art on the pickguard has gotten worn off and the guitar shows its age. It??s probably almost half a century old at this point! It??s structurally solid though and sounds pretty good.
