For its age, this guitar looks, sounds, and plays beautifully. There is some aging to the finish, which you can see from the photos. But it is fully functional with no structural issues. Die Special wurde normalerweise in den 1950ern bis in die 60er Jahre hinein gebaut, diese hier wurde circa 1975 von Hoyer für eine Gitarrenmesse gebaut. Sie ist die letzte gebaute Hoyer "Special " ! Im Korpus ist der Hoyer Aufkleber aus den 70ern und auch die Schaller Mechaniken sind original. Diese Special hat wohl auch als Einzige die zeittypischen Blockeinlagen aus Perlmutt im Griffbrett. The guitar looks stunning in person and the pictures do not do it justice. The lacquer is cracking slightly on the bodywork but to be expected on a guitar of this age. Arnold Hoyer Solist Archtop made in Germany in the early 1960ties. All solid woods. Spruce top and maple back and sides. The guitar is in good condition with some wear, spots and finish cracks around body neck from intensive playing over the years.
Frets are at aprox 60-70 % with light marks on the ebony fretboard. Original tuner pegs were replaced. All other parts are original. This is a very decent sounding player with medium D profile neck and low string action. Plays in tune. Comes ... more
