Up for sale is a sweet 1971 Fender Competition Mustang in Competition Orange. This example features a MAY71B neck stamp, a pair of original grey bottom Mustang pickups with original pots and switches, original bridge / tremolo unit and hardware, original tuning keys and neck plate as well as original body routes. The pickup leads have been cut and then re-soldered at some point and there is evidence of touched up solder joints on the pots and wiring. The body finish has a slightly darker shade... more

For your consideration, a 1969 Fender Mustang in Competition Blue, but really more of a Competition Sherwood Green. Easily one of the coolest looking Mustangs ever. The original hardshell case is included, but only one latch is working. I??ll start by saying that The finish on this guitar is immaculate. Sounds and plays great! Very minor wear and tear but not much at all. Overall in fantastic shape. The necks on these Mustangs are a comfortable C shape & play really well this one has a low action of 1 8mm at the 12 fret. It has a Rosewood fretboard which is 42mm at the nut, with nice wide frets in good condition with little play wear. The truss rod adjustment is at the heel on these models.

1969 Fender Mustang in the iconic Competition Burgundy finish often referred to as Competition Blue. These early examples from the late 60??s feature a subtle purple edge. Guitar is in excellent condition, and aside from the weather checking features no buckle rash, deep scratches or major dings. The colour is also almost unfaded.
