This is a very cool 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom w / its rare 3 Humbucker setup a la Frampton in a pretty Wine Red finish. Its ebony fingerboard has perfect original fretless wonder frets & clean Gold hardware all over. Currently oaded w / a set of Duncan Humbucking pickups allowing access to each pickup seperatly or in any configuaration along w / Pot Codes dating to 1978. 1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom. Ebony. OHSC. All original with the exception of a refret, so it now plays great. The strap buttons are also modern replacements. No breaks or damage. Usual play wear for an 51 year old guitar but nothing major. Untouched solder. Original T-Tops sound fantastic. Nice vintage low output pickups with clarity. 9lb 13oz so good for a 70s Custom. Super clean Les Paul Custom all original from 1981. One owner from new, only played in church, has seen no abuse is probably the best example I've seen from this period.
Unusually the gold hardware has virtually no tarnishing, there is just a little lacquer wear on the rear of the neck and tiny marks here and there. Pots date 79 and 80, the Tim Shaw pickups sound brilliant
Complete with original bill of sale from the dealer who kept it as new and sold it as new old stock in 1989. ... more
